Our Offerings

Productions

Theme-based full-length puppets shows can be produced in association with schools, colleges, and/or NGOs. The institutions decide the theme and content of the performance and Arth facilitates the process of creating the production from its conception. During the process, the cast and crew construct their puppets based on the characters in the script and learn to manipulate and improvise with them on stage.

The production cast is part of the storyboarding and scriptwriting processes. Live, acoustic music and storytelling techniques are used in these performances. The cast with the facilitators makes dramaturgical decisions on what style of puppetry to imbibe. A short classification of each:

  • Finger Puppets – Cardboard puppets that are manipulated with fingers.

  • Glove Puppets – A traditional puppetry form of building puppets using gloves.

  • Marionettes – Puppets manipulated using strings.

  • Rod Puppets – Puppets manipulated using rods.

  • Giant Puppets – Puppets that are approximately 10-20 feet high, built using bamboo and other naturally available materials.

  • Shadow Puppets – Using an overhead projector, storytelling is through a play of shadow and lights.

  • Muppets – Popular puppet characters that play comedic characters.

  • Miniature Sets – Tiny models of all kinds of spaces built to scale.

Most materials used to build the puppets and properties are recyclable, like newspapers and plastic bottles, to propagate the idea of conservation of the environment.
